Mayor’s Community Weekend

What it’s all about

On the weekend of 30 June and 1 July 2018, events will be taking place across the West Midlands to celebrate the Mayor’s Community Weekend. The aim of this is to celebrate diversity, health and wellbeing – we want to encourage people to go out, engage in their local communities and increase social interaction.

We’ve worked in partnership with the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) to offer National Lottery funding of up to £500 to groups who want to run an event.

Applications for funding are now closed

You may not require funding to host your event. If this is the case, register your event on the WMCA website. All events are subject to application approval to be part of the Mayor’s Community Weekend.

If you've received funding

Grants are likely to be provided via a prepaid card that you can use to buy items for your event. We will be able to monitor your expenditure to check you have spent the grant as described in the application.

After the event, if money is not spent, this will automatically be returned to the Big Lottery Fund to go towards other good causes.

Take photos and videos of your event as we’d love to see them afterwards. We may also visit the event to celebrate with you.

Please read our terms and conditions

If you are an unconstituted group, you need to complete the constitution document you agreed to, which can be found here

If there are any changes to your event please let us know as soon as possible by emailing community.weekend@biglotteryfund.org.uk
